Winter is now upon us and as a result we are all having to start looking at our wardrobes and reassessing what we can keep from last year and what need throwing out. Here at Calico Laine we have been preparing for the winter season for quite some time now and have got together an impressive range of Winter Dressmaking Fabrics. Below I will go into some detail about these fabrics and why they are so useful in dressmaking.
- Double Knit Jersey: This heavy jersey fabric is perect for cold winter days and nights. It has a mixed composition of spandex, viscose and polyester and measures 150cm wide. It is  aperect weight for winter dresses and skirts.
- Winter Woolens: This section on the site is fairly new and contains a mixture of different fabric including Brushed Cottons, Flannel Fabrics, Pure Wool Fabrics and  Winter Fashion Print Fabrics.
- Lycra Jersey: Although not strictly a winter dress fabric, I thought I would mention this fabric as it is truly stunning and can used a layering fabric underneath a jacket for example. This fabric is also a 150cm wide.
- Printed Jersey Fabrics: In this section there are some really beautiful new fabrics that are ideal again for winter dressmaking projects. The vast majority of these fabrics in this section come from Germany and are 150cm wide.
