As the cold season takes over, we still have a number of customers looking for the perfect Bridal Fabrics for their own winter weddings. Brides-to-be do not let the chilly weather stop them, but trends in chosen fabrics are different from those that are popular in the spring and the summer. With the longer nights coming, customers are choosing darker palettes for their big day, picking out reds like wine and burgundy or deep purples such as mauve and aubergine. In today’s blog, we’ll be talking about a few fabrics that would be perfect for a winter wedding, in the hope that we can aid you with making the right choice for your own special occasion.

Duchess Satin – All year round, our duchess satin is one of the most sought-after fabrics when it comes to our customers looking for Bridal Fabrics. Available in a huge number of different shades, we also suggest it for bridesmaid gowns. We stock both dark and bright colours, so whatever palette you have chosen you are bound to be able to match it with this beautiful fabric.
Microfibre – This fabric is favoured by brides who do not want a shiny finish on their dress; available in a number of plain shades including bridal colours, it has fantastic drape and looks great when made up. It is also gorgeous when paired with a lace overlay, and looks wonderful as a more slimline dress such as an A-line or even a fishtail.
Lace – Always a popular choice for formalwear, lace can make any gown look classy and luxurious. We stock plenty of other fabrics with shades to match each of our laces, and each one features a scalloped edge that looks amazing when used as a feature in a garment.

This beautiful, short-pile material looks great as a shrug or bolero, and when lined with our polyester dress lining it is guaranteed to keep you cosy. It is available in a lot of colours and even some patterns as well if you are slightly more adventurous with your choices.
