During the summer months, we receive a larger number of sample orders from brides-to-be, who are all looking for the perfect fabrics to have their gowns and bridesmaid dresses created from. Often we are asked what fabrics we recommend, and so in today's blog we'll be talking about some of the Wedding Fabric that we suggest to our customers in order to supply them with their desired looks and themes for their big day. Duchess Satin – This gorgeous Wedding Fabric is definitely our first choice for bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses, and they are always a customer favourite no matter the time of year. We have a huge range of colours available to choose from in our stock, from classic bridal colours such as white, ivory and cream to the more adventurous such as sunflower yellow, cerise and turquoise. It has a stunning matte finish and looks fantastic when made up. Satin Back Dupion – This pretty fabric is reversible and features an unusual texture due to the intentional slubs in the weave. We have been complimented on our colour range by customers who have been pleasantly surprised to find colours such as cinnamon, duck egg and peach available from us, as well as traditional bridal colours such as white, ivory and cream. It is also a great choice for your outfit if you are attending a wedding but not part of the ceremony, as it is always popular for formal wear. Satin Back Crepe – Although this is a more lightweight Wedding Fabric, our satin back crepe has a lovely flow to it and has the added feature of being reversible, much like the satin back dupion; so whether your preference is shiny or matte when it comes to fabrics, you can use either side and be pleased with the results. We also recommend pairing this fabric with a sheer fabric such as a chiffon or organza. Chiffon - We stock several different kinds of chiffon available in a huge range of colours. Chiffon is a beautiful fabric and is a fantastic choice for using as an overlay on a dress, skirt or even a bolero jacket. Many of the shades available from us compliment colours available in our other fabrics to guarantee you have a complete look. This is an extremely popular fabric for brides who want to achieve an ethereal look with their outfits and bridesmaid gowns. Lace - This beautiful Wedding Fabric is sought after by brides-to-be who are after a delicate appearance, and our range of lace has plenty of colour options and pattern choices to ensure that whatever you are after, you will find it here. Our heavy corded lace is our most popular lace and is available in many different shades including bright colours such as cerise, teal and cobalt, to more traditional bridal colours like white, ivory and silver.
