The cold weather really does seem to have arrived here in the UK this week. With all this wind and rain it makes going outside a real challenge. When the weather goes nasty like it is,  it's time to dig out those warm winter clothes and accessories. I personally like the look of winter clothes, they seem to fit a lot better and I always seem warm and snuggley in them.
For today's blog I'm going to talk a bit about our range of warm fabrics and what I think are the best fabrics for keeping the cold weather at bay:
- Melton Fabrics: This particular range of fabrics only arrived with us this winter and already they are very popular. Our range of meltons are 150cm wide and priced at only £8.99 per metre. These are perfect for winter jackets or coats.
- Double Knit Jersey: If you have read any of my previous blog entries you will know that this is my personal favourite fabric. It is perfect for winter dressmaking and is fantastic quality. It is a lovely heavy weight jersey that makes up and washes so well. It is so popular this year that a new range of marl colours have been added.
- Fleece Fabrics: A must have item for any wardrobe, a fleece jacket will really keep the cold at bay. Here at Calico Laine we offer both plain and patterned fleece. Both are 150cm wide and with prices  starting at just £5.99 per metre they can't be missed :-)
