Velour Fabric is one of our latest fabrics here at Calico Laine. It is available in many colours including  Purple, Navy, Magenta, Mid Grey, Teal, Black, Turquoise, Aubergine and Pink. Our stunning new Velour is 150 cm wide and 100% Polyester. Our Velour is a very good quality fabric with a slight stretch so it can be used for many different clothing garments or even some interior design items. Velour really is a versatile material. An obvious design to make out of Velour is a Velour tracksuit, but why stick with the obvious? Try something new! How about a stunning new dress? Velour has a slight stretch to it so it is perfect to make a tight fitting dress. It hangs beautifully so it would also make a beautiful long dress or skirt. Add a little sparkle with Diamante and you have your self a show stopping dress. Another garment you could make is a dressing gown. You could line it in fleece to keep you extra warm and it would look like a royals dressing gown :-) Dance wear is another garment you could make with our Velour, whether its for practice wear or for the actual costume. The Velour has a slight stretch so it is very practical for this kind of garment. The colours are also vibrant so it gives you the edge if using it for a dance costume. Another costume you could make with our Velour is a med-evil fancy dress costume, or any fancy dress costume for that matter. Although, typically, Velour isn't an upholstery fabric, there is ways in which it can be used for soft furnishings.  How about covering your bed headboard, it would look eligant and vibrant at the same time. Or make a new cushion, using our soft toy filling and zips. Another beautiful way to use your Velour is by making new curtains with a draped scarf over the. Line it with our curtain lining or black out lining, finish it off with heading tape then your curtains are good to go.
