When you are planning your big day, you will often have a choice of Bridal Fabrics in mind, and here at Calico Laine we have a wide selection of Bridal Fabrics available so you are guaranteed to find the most suitable fabric for you. However a popular trend for you to consider when choosing your fabric is to incorporate Lace within your wedding dress. This trend has been popular for a long time but since the Royal Wedding it has become even more popular. We have two types of Lace Bridal Fabrics for you to choose from here at Calico Laine, which are:
  • Corded lace – 53% cotton, 47% nylon corded flounce, available in widths of 130-135cm. Colour options available in this lace are the classic bridal colours white, ivory and cream as well as black, duck egg or magenta.
  • Lace – 100& polyester, available in 115cm width and is an approximate weight of 47gsm. Colours available in this lace are classic bridal colours white and ivory as well as yellow, lilac, red, green, blue and black.
Depending on the way you are incorporating Lace Bridal Fabrics into your dress, it may be necessary to use Dress Lining underneath. Our Dress Linings are Bridal Fabrics that are all 100% polyester anti-static and are available in a width of 150cm. We have over 20 colour options available in our dress linings, inlcuding ivory and white which can be used under your Lace Bridal Fabric. If you’d prefer to only have a subtle use of lace on your wedding dress, it can be used with many of our other Bridal Fabric including duchess satin or taffeta. A stylish option when doing this is to add lace sleeves or layer lace fabric over your dress’ bodice. All of our Bridal Dressmaking Fabric is available on our website, where you can also find a range of Bridal Accessories and Haberdashery Products to create your perfect Bridal dress.
