The word ‘Chiffon’ comes from an old French word that means ‘rag’. It is a very lightweight Cheap Fabric material that is smooth to the touch and very sheer. Chiffon is traditionally made from silk, however it can also be made out of cotton, and most popularly using synthetic fibres such as polyester. Here are just some of the uses of our Chiffon Economy Fabrics:
  • Bridalwear – Chiffon is extremely popular in Dressmaking bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses, due to its glamorous finish, and it is ideal for layering on top of other fabrics such as Duchess Satin and Satin Back Crepe.
  • Ladies Formal Wear- Chiffon is ideal as a Cheap Fabric for Dressmaking ladies garments, and is perfect again for layering with other garments. It is popular because of its floaty fit and comfort, as well as giving a stylish finish to any outfit.
  • Home interiors – Chiffon can work well as a finishing touch in interior design, such as drapes etc.
We also stock a range of Georgette  Cheap Fabric materials, which is a slightly heavier weight chiffon material, which is perfect if you are after the chiffon look and feel, without it being too sheer and see-through. Another Cheap Fabric Chiffon range we stock is the Cationic Chiffon, which is designed and make to look and feel like real silk, We have 26 different shades of Chiffon Cheap Fabrics to choose from, and they come in a width of 115 cm and are 100% polyester. We also have a large range of 25 different shades of Cationic Chiffon. These are also 100% polyester, and they come in a width of 140 cm. Our Georgette range includes 11 shades and comes in  a width of 140 cm and again is 100% polyester.
