Some of the most popular Bridal Fabrics we have here at Calico Laine is our range of Chiffon. The word 'Chiffon' originally derived from the old French word that means 'old rag', and is a plain woven, sheer Bridal Fabric that is well used in Dressmaking. It is widely used as a Bridal Fabric due to its  high quality feel and silky appearance, and here is the range of Chiffons that are available for you to use as a Bridal Fabric:
  • Chiffon - We have a large selection of 25 shades to choose from, and these shades also correspond to our beautiful range of Satin Back Crepes (another popular Bridal Fabric!). They come from Japan in a width of 115cm, and it is a fantastic Bridal Fabric to be used as layering with other Bridal Fabrics such as the Satin Back Crepe and Duchess Satins.
  • Georgette - This is a slightly heavier Chiffon Bridal Fabric, yet is still lightweight and sheer. It is ideal for those who dont want the Chiffon to be too 'flyaway'. Again, a lovely selection of colours is available in this Bridal Fabric, and it comes from Japan in a width of 140cm.
  • Cationic Chiffon - This has quickly become one of our most popular Bridal Fabrics. It is an iridescent two-tone Bridal Fabric that is designed to look and feel like real silk. It is 100% polyester and comes from Indonesia in a width of 140cm.
All our Chiffons are the ideal Bridal Fabrics for using as layering with other Bridal Fabrics to give a high quality and luxurious look to all your Bridal garments. I hope todays blog has been informative about the wide range of Chiffons we have here at Calico Laine, and how they can be used as Bridal Fabrics.
