Velcro has many uses in everyday life. It really is an excellent item that can be used for many things. In today's blog I am going to talk about the different types of Velcro and some of it's intended uses.
  • Heavy Duty Velcro: This thick Velcro is ideal for when a strong heavy duty stick is required. It is typically 50mm or 2 inch wide and comes with either a sew in option or a stick on option. It is also available in black and white.
  • Self Adhesive Velcro: A very general purpose hook and loop, this comes in 3 widths including 16mm, 20mm and 25mm. This come in black and white as well.
  • Sew In Velcro:  More suited for clothing, this Velcro comes with a flat back and can be either sewn in or glued down. This also comes in 3 different widths including 16mm, 20mm and 25mm.
Velcro is the actual brand name for hook and loop but here at Calico Laine we sell both the branded versions and none branded version of it. In my experience, both of these products work extremely well and it really is personal preference as to which one you choose to use. One small piece of advice I would recommend though, if you are using any of the self adhesive hook and loops, always make sure the surface you are sticking it to is clean. This will ensure it stays in place. I hope my blog entry today has been of some use to you. As always if you have any thoughts or comments then please do comment in the box below, Until next time, Calico Laine
