A towel is an everyday object that most people do not even think about from day to day yet it is one of those essential items that you probably wouldn't want to live without. Towelling Fabrics are used to make towels that will dry a body or surface by drawing moisture when it is in direct contact with the wet surface. Most people keep towels in their house for a number of different uses including in the bathroom as facial towels and bath towels; towels in the kitchen for drying dishes and sometimes even in the garage for cleaning the car. Towelling Fabrics are woven fabrics usually made from either cotton or a mix of polyester and cotton. Special looms are used to create a loop or pile on the fabric and these are called dobby looms. Traditionally, towels are a single colour and are not printed with designs due to the fact that they are usually washed on high heat frequently and therefore the design may not last however there are many beach towels nowadays that come in patterns and featuring characters and these are designs are created by dyeing the fibres before manufacturer rather than simply printing a design on after the towel has been created. Made in Germany, which is known for its quality manufacture, this towelling is high quality and durable meaning that whatever you make with it, it will last for a long time. This fabric is 150cm wide and approx. 510gsm which is a fairly heavyweight fabric. As well as making traditional towels from Towelling Fabrics, many of our customers have used this for making more unusual projects. We have sent our towelling out to Cyprus where one of our customers creates sun lounger covers as well as sending it to a customer who makes dog coats to keep them clean and dry.
