Tartan Fabrics have been around for many years and are always popular for a variety of occasions. One event in the calendar that always stands out to to me is Burns Night. The next burns night is in January next year. Burn night is a tradition in Scotland and is held after the poet named Robert Burns. He is known as the national poet of Scotland and as such Burns Night is celebrated in honour of him.  Around this time Tartan Fabric becomes incredibly popular and always in demand. Tartan is not just a seasonal fabric though. We have sold Tartan for years now and it sells all year round. Our range of Tartans are a dressmaking weight fabric and make up wonderfully well into dress, skirts and kilts. These Tartans are all 150cm wide and are made from polyester and viscose.  These can be purchased by the metre or by the complete roll roll. On all the tartans we offer a scaled discount price, meaning the more you buy the cheaper it becomes. We offer a numer of different designs in our Tartan Fabrics, these include:
  1. Royal Stewart
  2. Blackwatch
  3. Lindsey Tartan
We also offer a number of fashion tartans as well. These are check fabrics that are colourful and eye catching . A good example of these are the cerise and purple tartan fabrics. Another Tartan Print we offer is in the Brushed Cotton range of fabric. This is my personal favourite fabric. These materials are so soft to touch and are perfect for all your dressmaking needs. These particular fabrics are 150cm as well but are 100% cotton and made in Europe. I hope today's blog has given you an insight into the range of Tartan Materials we offer here at Calico Laine.
