So it has got to that time of year again were everybody's priorities are booking there Christmas nights out again, whether it is to be with the lads, the girls or just a staff night out. Whoever it is with, the big question is still hanging in the air, 'What will I wear?'
If you are like me and own 193 items of clothing, but only actually wear the same 11 things over and over again and basically never have any outfits to wear, then I feel your pain. People constantly come to my house, see my wardrobe, and it is like they are looking at a completely different thing to me. They pull things out saying how nice it is and how it would look amazing with something else and I just don't see it! I suppose it has to be like this for everyone though, hasn't it?
Now, with sewing and dressmaking growing more and more popular, we shouldn't have to worry about any of our mismatched clothing because we can learn how to make the exact thing we want! However, then the question of 'Which fabric should I use?' comes to mind. Personally I love Satin Fabrics, I love the way they look and feel and it is usually a more cost effective choice than silk whilst keeping that high end, glamorous look to make the wearer feel extra special.
For this years Christmas Doo I will be choosing to use our beige super soft duchess satin from our Satin Fabrics range as the dress I will be making is a fitted, strapless body con dress that has pleated detail across the bodice. These super soft Satin Fabrics are perfect for dresses like this as it has the same quality as our duchess satin but it is lighter in weight so it is more easily manipulated.
