As I write, it is rumoured that Hollywood power couple Kim Kardashian and Kanye West will be tying the knot this Bank Holiday weekend in the romantic setting of the Italian countryside. The couple, parents to baby North, have been planning their star studded nuptials for some months now and we are sure that the bride will have had in mind what she would be wearing long before the date was even saved. Whilst Kim will have access to the world's top dress designers, somebody with such a carefully crafted public image is sure to have taken maximum creative control over every aspect of her couture gown and with this being the reality star's third time down the aisle, she has had plenty of time to work out what suits her. Lucky Kim is in the privileged position of being able to choose exactly what she wants to wear for her big day and will be able to choose between the most luxurious Dressmaking Fabrics available. There are many different elegant Dressmaking Fabrics available for brides to be but here, we argue why we think Kim should choose Satin.
Satin Dressmaking Fabric is one of the most popular Fabrics we sell and is perfect for everything from elegant evening dresses to couture bridal gowns. Satin is often chosen as a lower cost alternative to silk, with the same lustrous qualities at a fraction of the price the wearer will feel just as special as if she were wearing the real thing. There are many aspects of Satin Dressmaking Fabric that make it a wiser choice than silk, not least the cost. Satin is a slightly stiffer Dressmaking Fabric than silk and making it more effective at holding it's shape. We stock one of the widest varieties of Satin available on the market today, including the always popular Duchess Satin. This elegant and lustrous Dressmaking Fabric is a particularly popular choice for bridal gowns and evening wear such as luxury prom dresses. Distinguishable by it's higher thread count, Duchess Satin is also popular in the manufacture of luxurious lingerie. Our Satin Back Crepe and Satin Back Dupion Fabrics are also popular of bridal wear and the future Mrs. West could do a lot worse than to walk down the aisle in in these beautiful Dressmaking Fabrics.

Many a celebrity bride has walked down the aisle in a dress made of Satin and Kim herself wore a Satin dress for her wedding reception when she married basketball star Kris Humphries back in 2011. The gown was one of three that she wore for her ill fated union that lasted only 72 days; the bias cut gown was crafted from a Satin Back Crepe and featured a v-neck and a mermaid style skirt which draped beautifully over her very famous curves. Accessorised with diamonds and with her raven hair worn long and wavy, this is definitely one of our favourite Kim looks ever, being classy, elegant and timeless and is definitely a look which will go down perfectly with not only her future husband but the army of fashion critics that will surely be gawping from the sidelines, and no doubt secretly hoping that Mrs. West-to be will get it drastically wrong! We wish the couple all the best for their upcoming nuptials and hope this is third time lucky for Kim.
