Zips are a very popular item here at Calico Laine and we often get asked what is the best type of replacement zip to use. If you are replacing a zip in a jacket, coat or cardigan then you will will need to use an open end zip. In my entry today I am going to talk about the range of replacement open end zips that we offer here at Calico Laine.

Plastic Open End Zips: These are made from a strong moulded plastic and come in number of different colours. They start at 10 inches in length and go up to 36 inches.
Metal Open End Zips: Made by YKK, these come in a number of shades and also start at 10 inches and go up to 36 inches.
Nylon Open End Zips: One of our most popular zips, these are made from a bonded nylon and are ideal to use in coats, jackets, cardigans and also hoodies.
Heavy Duty Metal Zips: These are a YKK number 8 zip and are ideal when an extra strong zip is required. These are perfect for leather jackets and motorcycle jackets. These start at 14 inches and go up to 30 inches.
Two Way Zips: A zipper that open from the top and the bottom, these come in navy and black only and start at 22 inch and go up to 30 inch.

Brass Open End Zips: These replacement zippers have an antique brass finish and are ideal for keeping that vintage look. Available from 22 inches up to 30 inches.
