Sewing has really taken off recently and there are a number of reasons for this from television shows through to the economic climate. Next year Calico Laine celebrates it's 40th birthday and we have seen many things over years come and go but sewing and dressmaking always remains a very popular hobby and pastime. Next year we have a number of big plans ready to celebrate our 40 years in business and really can't wait! These include: Metallic Bias Binding: This is 20mm wide and is available by the metre and also by the complete roll. Bakers String: This 1mm string has a number of applications from being used in baking right through to decoration. This range comes in a number of colours and are priced at £3.99 per 20 metre roll. Prym Steam Iron: I really like these handy little irons. They are perfect for when you are patchworking and quilting. Canvas Fabrics: Although not strictly a sewing item, this bag making canvas arrived in with us this week and really is perfect for creating bags with. It is 150cm wide and made from 100% cotton and come in 13 beautiful colours.
