Here at Calico Laine, we are always adding new stock to our stores and website; in an effort to keep up with both fashion trends and the needs of our customers, we regularly update our stock with hundreds of new products. This includes lots of new Dressmaking Fabrics, and in today’s blog we’ll be talking about a few new ranges that have recently come in.
Ripstop – Something we have been asked for time and time again by our customers, we now stock Ripstop Fabrics. Available in numerous colours and even some prints, these Fabrics are perfect for Dressmaking projects that need to be water-resistant, such as anoraks and walking jackets.
Scuba – One of my favourites from our recently added Dressmaking Fabrics, our Scuba plains and prints have a beautiful weight and feel to them, and they are a great choice for Dressmaking projects such as bodycon dresses and skirts. We are also looking into stocking more plain colours as well, so even more of these Fabrics will be available from us in the near future.
Digitally Printed Satin – Our new satin Dressmaking Fabrics are the Digitally Printed Satins; this technique allows for vibrant colours and clear prints to be achieved, resulting in a fantastic-looking Fabric, both on the roll and when made up. With so many different prints to choose from, they would be wonderful for Dressmaking projects that require a floaty Fabric, such as a blouse, skirt or even a formal dress if you are looking for something different.
Digitally Printed Chiffon – Another digitally printed Dressmaking Fabric, these new chiffons look amazing when laid over another Fabric such as a light satin or a cotton lawn. They are versatile and can be used for both formal and casual garments, and even accessories such as scarves.
Have you used any of our new fabrics in your own Dressmaking projects yet? Take a photo and upload it to our Facebook page – we love to see what our customers come up with!
