Net Curtains are not just for hanging in your windows or over your doors. They are perfectly designed for doing a number of jobs that would never have crossed your mind. With october fast approaching and the harvest festival you really need to protect those vegetable patches and allotments from bugs and pests. Nets are perfect for this as they allow the right amount of light through so your plants are not starved of light meanwhile keeping those nastily pests out!
It is recommended that when using Net Curtains for this purpose that you sew them together to prevent big gaps emerging in between the ends. Wind and all sorts can play havoc with the nets if they aren't sewn together and obviously big gaps between your nets will let those pests back in destroying all your hard work!

To hold the Net Curtains up and above your precious plants playing hoops or wooden rods are recommended. How you attach the nets to the supports is your own choice. I would personally use a staple gun as this will keep the nets secured whatever the weather. However other people use tacks and clothes pegs to hold them on tightly. But don't forget to make them easy enough to remove so you can weed or harvest your home grown produce.
It is advised that if you do employ this technique that you avoid the lace style curtains as the gaps in the lace are big enough for butterflies to get through and then become trapped.
