Dressmaking is so popular at present and I'm really pleased about this. It's a great hobby to have and a life skill that you will always use. In my blog entry today I'm going to talk a little about some of my personal favourite Dressmaking Fabrics. These include: Haute Couture Fabrics: Although typically more expensive than most other fabrics mentioned in todays's blog, this range of fabrics are simply beautiful. They include silks and some amazing quality embroidered fabrics. Satin Back Dupion: We have always sold dupion at Calico Laine, but recently the new range of colours are stunning. I particularly like this for shorter dresses. Gingham Fabrics: When the weather is hot, ginghams are always a winner for nice summer shirts and dresses. They are timeless and will wash and wash. A real favourite of mine :-) Plain Cotton Spandex: A fairly new cloth to us, this has really impressed me. It makes up really well and is so comfortable to wear. I have used it to make blazers and also a skirt. I have only mentioned a couple of my personal favourites at present here in today's blog entry. Have you ever used any of our fabrics before? If so please do share your amazing creations with us on our Facebook and Twitter pages. We would love to see what beautiful creations come from our fabrics :-) Until next time, Calico Laine
