Here at Calico Laine, we've decided to expand our selection of Net Curtains, so today's blog will be about the advantages of nets and how to buy them.
Typically, there is no such thing as a standard size window, but our net curtains come in a wide selection of drops. The drop is the most important thing when you are measuring your window, so it is always best to double check and make sure you've measured accurately. Before placing your order, make a note of the drops available and have a look at which drop is going to best suit your window; sometimes, a slightly shorter drop might work if the perfect drop isn't available, and other times a longer drop is better as you're always able to shorten them. If your net curtains are far too short, then you can't create length if its not there. The width of the window is easy - you simply buy all of our net curtains by the metre. Measure the width of the window; it is standard practice to double the width to allow for sufficient gather. So, if your window measured 1 metre wide, you'd need to buy 2 metres of net curtains in your specified drop. Some people like more then double the width, but this is down to personal choice. If in doubt, then call one of our sales team members who'll be happy to help you.
Measuring the window is the easy part; now you need to choose which design you like best! Here at Calico Laine we have plains, florals and traditional net curtains covering all tastes - there's something for everyone. When choosing your net curtains, it's wise to take your curtains and interior decor into consideration too - you don't want a very busy net curtain with heavily patterned curtains and wallpaper.
[caption id="attachment_6334" align="alignleft" width="300"] The Hawaii design is a very popular choice of Net Curtain.[/caption]
A personal favourite of mine is the Hawaii net with the butterflies. This is one of our best sellers as it is very delicate, suitable for every room and fresh-looking. Another reason why people like this net curtain so much is because the pattern distracts people from looking into the house, whilst still letting plenty of light in. The Hudson net curtain is also another best seller; this is a simple plain net with subtle horizontal stripes. The Hudson net is ideal for rooms with heavily patterned curtains or for people who want to achieve a minimalist look - it's all down to personal taste.
I hope we've given you an insight into net curtains and that this blog has been helpful; we're always happy to help if you need further assistance.
Until next time,
Calico Laine
