We often get asked for haberdashery items that can be used with a sewing machine such as bobbins, needles and bulbs. Sewing Machine Bulbs : From time to time you may find that the light in your sewing machine goes out and needs replacing. We stock two main different types of bulb within our Haberdashery Online, screw and bayonet. It is important to look at which type your machine uses before you purchase a replacement as otherwise it will not fit. We have both branded bulb made by German manufacturers Prym and a non - branded version which can also be bought in bulk. It may be handy to buy bulbs in bulk if you are teaching a sewing class and would like to keep them in stock just in case of any bulbs breaking during a lesson.
Machine Bobbins : If you are doing a lot of different sewing projects you may find that you need different coloured thread for each project and therefore it is always useful to have lots of machine bobbins in your sewing box. When you look for these in our Haberdashery Online section you will find that they are not made specifically for certain machines or brands but are a generic size that will fit most machines. We stock machine bobbins in both metal and plastic in two different shapes, flat and slightly dished. As with the machine bulbs, it is best to check which shape your machine uses before you order these.
Machine Needles : These are a very important haberdashery item to have in your sewing box as both spares, in case of any breakages which is probably inevitable at some point in your sewing career, or for changing when you are sewing a range of fabrics. Again, similar to the machine bobbins, we stock generic machine needles rather than ones specifically for a machine brand. Both our JTL and Millward needles have a half round shank and will fit most sewing machines and are ideal for general sewing. As well as these we carry a range of needles made by Prym which can be used for more decorative sewing including twin needles and patchwork needles.
