There are so many things that could be classed as Haberdashery. Here at Calico Laine we (hopefully) stock everything you could possibly ever want or need for any of your projects. In this blog I shall explain some of the great items that you may or may not know even existed! Fray Check This is an excellent item to have in your sewing box. Have you ever tried to sew a fabric neatly but it keeps fraying? It is a colourless liquid and you simply add it onto the edge of your fabric and it strengthens and binds your fabric to prevent fraying from happening. It washed wonderfully so no need to worry about that :-) Trick Marker Pen Basically, all this is is a tailors chalk- but better! Simply draw your desired line on to follow for cutting or sewing and it becomes invisible after a while. This is an excellent thing to use if your item isn't washable. If this isn't what you would like then try our Aqua Trick Marker pen which is used in the same way but you wash it off instead of waiting for it to fade. Bees Wax Card Bees Wax is used to strengthen thread, if you would like to sew items such as a zip in a leather jacket, then rub the Bees Wax into the thread and it makes it very strong and hard wearing.
