For the last 15 years or so my Christmas has not differed. Christmas eve at about 6 pm we all get into our warm, snug, fabulously festive pyjamas and sit with a never ending supply of hot drinks and a movie marathon of all the classic Christmas films. However, if you also have the same love of Christmas as we do you will understand that your pyjamas can't just be tartan pants and a top, or plain pyjamas with 'HO HO HO' written on the top, they have to made with the softest, warmest, snuggest Fleece Fabric that can be found, and they have to be home made - otherwise, lets face it, its just not the same!

Here at Calico Laine we offer a wide variety of different Fleece Fabrics and in the run up to Christmas we make it our aim to bring you the perfect fleece to make blankets, jackets, dressing gowns, and yes, you've guessed it - Christmas pyjamas!! This year I bought myself some of our polar bear print super soft Fleece Fabric when it first came in, in September and passed it straight on to my mother to make me a pair of amazing Christmas pyjama trousers and a hooded jacket with a big front pocket to keep my hands warm throughout the morning of Christmas!! I also bought enough for my two little girls as I knew they would love to match with Mummy on Christmas day!
For me, Christmas PJ's aren't just 'another pair of pyjamas' but they give you that rush of excitement that makes you forget you are getting older and brings with it a wave of nostalgia. Personally, I believe there is no feeling like it when you wake up early on Christmas morning all ready to start the festivities because you're already wearing your Christmas pyjamas. The alarm goes off at 6.30 am and, of course if you're a Christmas lover, you jump out of bed, have a stifled scream of excitement, pad your feet up and down just like you would when you were a child and knew Santa had come while you were asleep to drop off all your presents! And even though you know you probably shouldn't, your body is on autopilot and you run down the stairs two at a time, dart to the kitchen, flick the switch on the kettle and make a ginormous hot chocolate with whipped cream, marshmallows and a big sprinkle of chocolate while you wait for the little ones to race down one after the other, dragging Daddy down with them to see what Mr Claus has brought for them this year.
