At Calico Laine we are a big bunch of animal lovers and everyone who comes to our Neston store will be familiar with our company mascot, Bob the dog! As with most people who love animals we feel that animals and pets are as much a part of the family as human family members and it is important to treat them well and provide them with nice home comforts. We often get customers who come in to our shop looking for fabric to create items for their pets, mainly dogs and cats and one of the best fabrics for them is Fleece Fabric.
Both our medium weight and heavy weight Fleece Fabric are soft and warm making it ideal to make items for pets to keep them cosy and comfortable. Traditional fleece can be susceptible to 'pilling' where after washing, little balls of fabric begin to appear on the surface of the fabric. Our fleece however is anti-pill which means that no matter how many times it is washed, which is possibly quite a lot if it is for an animal product, it will not pill. This will mean that even after many washes it will still look fairly new. Fleece Fabric is a durable material which is essential if it is being used for animal products and at £5.99 per metre and 150cm wide it is also affordable. This fleece can be used to make animal blankets, bed and even toys. Some people even choose to make dog coats and clothes from this material.
This year we added some printed super soft fleece designs to our Fleece Fabric range and these have been especially popular for customers wanting to make cat and dog beds. They are beautifully soft to the touch so animals will love to sleep or lay down on it while also staying warm. One of the prints we stock is called 'Dog and Bone' and as the name suggests it features a cartoon dog and bone and is available in a grey version and cerise version.
Have you used any of our fleece to create an item for a pet? If you have, please share your pictures on our Facebook page as we would love to see what you have made.
