Now winter is slowly approaching here at Calico Laine we have noticed a larger increase of winter fabrics being sold in store and online. We have begun to stock more and more thicker/warmer Dress Fabrics here so people have a larger choice when it comes to making a cosy winter dress. As well as all our new fabrics we have brought in more of our older popular winter fabrics including double knit jersey. This fabric has been selling a lot recently and is always such a huge seller when it comes into the colder months of the year.
Double knit jersey is also one of our most popular jersey fabrics due to its weight, thickness and range of colours. Its a lot heavier than cotton jersey and is great when made up into jumpers and winter dresses. This fabric keeps you warm and is very comfortable to wear as its not too heavy and doesn't restrict your movement. We have a large range of colours available including dark shades like black and navy to more brighter shades like lilac and cerise.

One of our staff members here at Calico Laine makes a christmas day dress for herself every year out of our double knit jersey and she says its one of the best Dress Fabrics she has worked with. She chooses this fabric every year because it easy to sew with, very comfortable to wear and a great quality Dress Fabric. The dress shown in the image is made using our royal double knit jersey and our royal lightweight lace for the sleeves. This dress is a very feminine and elegant skater dress that is perfect for keeping warm as well as looking pretty.
