This week saw the 17th Annual GQ Men of the Year Awards and although the night was mainly about the men there were plenty of female celebrities, wearing a variety of Dress Fabrics, on the red carpet. This year saw a lot of particularly revealing dresses and black was a popular choice of colour for the night.

Kim Kardashian was named woman of the year and wore a custom made Ralph & Russo dress which stole the spotlight from most of the others on the red carpet. The top half of her dress was made from a PVC Dress Fabric in a leotard style with the bottom half made from a sheer fabric that revealed her legs and the bottom half of the leotard. This look could be recreated using a leather look fabric with a chiffon or silk devoire fabric as an over layer. This would not be the same as Kim's dress as hers had an almost chain maille effect to it however it would give a similar effect.
Another celebrity who wore a revealing outfit was supermodel Cara Delevingne who was dressed in Burberry. Her outfit was made up of a pair of large black pants with a lace overlay which didn't leave much to the imagination! To finish the outfit she wore a pair of black ankle boots. If you were brave enough to recreate Cara's daring look, a lightweight lace Dress Fabric in black could be used as the top layer with lycra used to make the bottom half.
Jessie J also decided to go down the revealing route but went for a dress with a bit more colour. Her dress was emerald green in colour and was made from a satin Dress Fabric. With a high slit on one side and a deep plunging neckline almost to her naval, there was a lot of skin on show. This dress could be recreated with a less revealing nature using satin back crepe, super soft duchess satin or economy satin in a number of jewel colours.
