In this blog we are going to talk about Curtain Lining and the many variations of it. Curtain Linings have a variety of uses, but mainly it is used to keep light out and also keep warmth in. At Calico Laine we stock a variety of different Curtain Linings for use at different times of the year. Listed below I have gone into some detail about the different Curtain Linings and their intended uses:
Blackout Lining: This curtain lining is designed at keeping light out and can be sewn or velcroed onto the back of your existing curtains. Blackout Lining works really well and is ideal for the summer months when the sun rises early. This Curtain Lining is also know as 3 Pass Blackout Lining. It is 140cm wide and is purchased by the metre and is made in the USA, with prices starting from £5.35 per metre.
Sateen Curtain Lining: This lining is designed to be used on high quality curtains and has slight sheen/polished look to it. Sateen Curtain Lining is heavier than regular Curtain Linings and is made from 100% cotton. As with most Curtain Linings it is an off white/ivory colour. This Curtain Lining is 140cm wide and prices start at £3.19 per metre.
Bump Curtain Interlining:This Curtain Lining is used to keep warmth in and is ideal to be used on cold winter nights. It is a lot thicker and heavier than any of the other Curtain Linings that we have here. Cotton Bump Interlinings are 140cm wide and made from 90% sarille 10% polyester. Prices start at only £4.49 a metre,  this is a real must for upcoming winter months.
Curtain Linings: Our regular range of Curtain Linings are available in two widths, 140cm and 270cm wide. These are both made from 50% cotton 50% polyester. These range of Curtain Linings are our best sellers here at Calico Laine. With prices for the 140cm Curtain Linings starting at only £2.20 this Curtain Lining is ideal to use on everyday house hold projects.
