With the summer holidays fast approaching, you are probably looking forward to no more school runs for a few weeks and having the kids around at home – that is, until they start to say they are bored! In this case, you might be looking for something fun to do without travelling the length and breadth of the UK – so why not do some Craft projects with your children?
One of the easiest Craft projects for children of any age to attempt is card-making. With so many different Craft items available to purchase from Calico Laine, including (but not limited to) cards and envelopes, glitter, sequins, paint, glue and ribbon, every child can create a card exactly the way they want to. Why not get them to make a special card for a friend or relative’s birthday?
Another great Craft project for older children to have a go at is jewellery making. We stock many different types of beads, including our huge range of Gutermann beads available in the Crafts section of our website. In store we stock even more, including pony beads, alphabetical beads and wooden beads. I have had a couple of young girls hoping to make name bracelets for their friends, which is something that I did myself as a child! We also stock jewellery tools and accessories such as bead organisers and beading elastic.
If your kids are a little more adventurous and enjoy getting messy, let them try their hand at customising a piece of clothing or a bag. Some Craft items that we would suggest for this are Dylon fabric paint and pens, or buttons and sequins that they can attach using glue from the large amount of types and brands that we stock. If you want to create a bag completely from scratch, we also stock plenty of other Crafts items for bag-making, including the semi-recently added Bag Canvas fabric available in a fantastic range of colours.
