Working in a fabric shop with as much choice as Calico Laine is a dream for anyone that loves to Craft - well it is for me.  I get an idea in my head and that's it, I'm off. I literally cannot think back to a day where I haven't taken something home to use on a project. We have such a huge selection of fabrics and haberdashery which can be used for lots of different Crafting Projects. Whether it be turning a pair of your dads 1970's levis into a pair of shorts to wear for the summer and you want to find something to jazz them up, we have so many trims you could use to put around them, my personal favourite being pompom trim, and now, every shop you go in at the moment has something with it on! All you need to do is stitch it around the edge and you have a 'new' fashionable pair of shorts! Or even just making something small that takes minutes. I will honestly try making anything and everything, but at the moment I've decided - as early as it may seem, that I will make a start on my home made Christmas presents. I've used a variety of our green felt fabrics, cut them into little triangles, stuffed them with our 8oz wadding, hand stitched around them and given them little brown felt trunks. In case it wasn't obvious, I've basically just made a forest of little felt Christmas trees and then decorated them with self adhesive gems to give them a bit of glam! I think they are fabulous, and to make it even better I've attached small safety pins to the back so everyone will be able to wear them as badges! You don't have to be the most creative person in the world to Craft, you just have to enjoy what you're doing. Anything that you've made we would love to see, just share to our facebook page.
