With many of you keen dressmakers I am sure that those of you with children like to make outfits for the little ones to either save money or make something personal and unique for them. Here at Calico Laine we have recently updated our range of Children's Prints and so Children's Dressmaking has never been more appealing with lots of gorgeous fabrics to choose from. At a width of 115cm and 100% cotton, the Children's Prints that we sell are a very good quality and fully washable at 40°C which is a must with any fabric that is going to be worn by children as no doubt it will end up with some kind of food or dirt stain on it during the day! Being a lightweight fabric, these prints are ideal for summer dresses for the girls or a short sleeved shirt for the boys however they can be made into something for the winter too. For example they could be made into a pinafore dress that can be worn with a longsleeve top and tights or maybe a long sleeve shirt making them very versatile. Our range of Children's Prints come in many different patterns that will appeal to both boys and girls, from babies up to much older children. Some of the prints for the younger chidren include zoo animals, bears, cats, apples and flowers in a variety of colours. For the older children we have some new prints including brightly coloured spots, dragonflys and bows. One of our most popular Children's Print is our cupcake design, from our new collection. This comes in lime, pink and purple and is very fashionable at the moment. As well as using this fabric for clothing you could create a number of accessories including bags, children's aprons or hair accessories as your children will love this print! Another popular print from our new range is the Patchwork Children's Print. These are also ideal for making children's accessories and clothing and have a homemade feel to them which will add to the charm of your handmade items. You could even use these as lightweight curtains, with a lining,  if you wanted to spruce up your child's bedroom.
