Here at Calico Laine, we stock an extensive range of Chiffon Fabric suitable for all tastes and needs - with so many weights and shades, our Chiffon is perfect for everything from formalwear and evening wear to bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses and so much more. It is sought after for its elegant, ethereal appearance that it manages to achieve with its lightweight, floaty nature, and as such is popular for those who are not into huge, extravagant dresses. That isn't to say that dressmaking projects made from Chiffon can't be beautiful - on the contrary, there are many people who favour the look of this gorgeous fabric and have achieved gorgeous results time and time again with it. Our Chiffon Fabrics are composed of 100% polyester, which ensures that while it is a fabric already popular for its appearance, it is also a good quality and will withstand repeated wears and washes over and over again. It is not limited to garments intended for only formal occasions, either - Chiffon can also be used for more casual dressmaking projects such as blouses, lingerie, and delicate scarves, all guaranteed to give a lovely, feminine appearance. It can also be layered over other fabrics such as satin and taffeta; these combinations of fabrics are always popular for bridesmaid gowns and prom dresses. Each type of Chiffon Fabric we stock has its own weight and texture, and they range from our most lightweight cationic chiffon (which is created to imitate the look, feel and drape of silk at a much more inexpensive price) all the way to our georgette, which is a heavier version of Chiffon and has a crepe-like feel to it. It offers more coverage than our other Chiffon Fabrics while still maintaining a floaty appearance, and like the rest of our other Chiffons,  it has a fantastic colour range to choose from, including traditional bridal colours to more bold shades such as cerise and royal blue. Aside from dressmaking projects, Chiffon Fabric is also great for venue dressing and soft furnishings; it looks beautiful as drapes over bed, as floaty curtains and as chair dressing. It is particularly popular for events such as weddings and parties.
