On saturday we held our first event here at Calico Laine Textiles especially to celebrate the queens birthday. Our event was called the british bonanza and it included everything british with the red, white and blue colour scheme shown all around. We decided to do this event to reward our existing and loyal customers and also to gain new customers who have never heard of us before. A few weeks before the event we all sat down and started planning preparations for the big day including which offers we were going to have, what are advertising would look like and what special treats we would have on the day.

British Bonanza Bunting[/caption]
A couple of weeks before the british bonanza we started advertising on all our social media sites as well as giving customers leaflets to promote the event and gain their interest on attending. Some of our staff members made special british bunting out of our themed british flag fabrics whilst others created fat quarters, remanent bundles and cut metres of fabrics that would be on sale with huge discount prices. As a team we decided upon asking a local store gifts for me and you who stock our fabrics to come down on the day and set up a stall outside showcasing their products and interacting with customers for themselves. When the day arrived we all made sure we were here a little earlier to set everything up, display the bunting and set the table up for our special british cakes and drinks.

The british bonanza at Calico Laine Textiles couldn't have gone any better and we were all so thrilled with the turn out. Lots of our regular customers and brand new customers came down to try out some of our yummy cakes and buy products that had huge reductions on the day. We also decided to raise money for the cystic fibrosis trust on the day and we raised over £150 which was great and want to thank everyone so much for donating. We gave each customer a leaflet in the bag that contained a variety of discounts including half price items, percentage off and deals that can be used both online and in store which we have already had interaction from.
