Our Fabric shop, Calico Laine Textiles started off over 45 years ago as a small market stall in Neston, Wirral. We sold small remnants and roll ends but the fabrics we had were beautiful and a fabulous quality. Despite our humble beginnings we became a well known stall, with a great loyal customer base and in turn we grew. Not only did our ranges of fabric grow but we also expanded into haberdashery, crafts and knitting wools to name a few. In 1984 we opened our first fabric shop in Liscard, Wirral. This combined with the regular markets meant that we established ourselves as a reputable and reliable company. After many successful years on the markets we decided to move our fabric shop forward with the times. Calico Laine opened another shop which was primarily built as a base for the online trade from our website. Going online opened up a whole new world for us, we soon became an international fabric shop rather than a local fabric shop. Over the years, as we have grown, our knowledge and experience has also increased. We deal with a huge verity customers on a daily basis ranging from individual hobby sewers to large corporate companies. Whatever you want from a fabric shop, we hope to have the answers. One of my personal favourite tasks is dealing with bridal fabrics, I enjoy working with bridal shops who share the same enthusiasm for fabrics as we do and I love working with excited brides and their bridesmaids. Its so interesting to see what other people chose, with their styles and colour combinations. We offer a fantastic range of bridal fabrics including Duchess satin, chiffons and Dupions.  All of our gorgeous ranges can be found in both our Liscard and Neston stores or on our online fabric shop. One aspect of working in a fabric shop that I enjoy is seeing how products have advanced and expanded over the years. When people hear the word Haberdashery they usually just think of needles and threads. In fact, there are actually thousands of haberdashery items. Within our fabric shop we deal with two main haberdashery companies; Prym and Viline. These companies are both world renowned and produce quality sewing accessories that are innovative and reliable. I love to see the new products they are constantly producing and modernising. I think having an excellent product knowledge is a vital part of working in any fabric shop.
