Well the summer is nearly over (if we actually had one!) and I as write this it is currently pouring down outside the office. This can mean only one thing... It's time to get the knitting needles out and start furiously knitting those warm jumpers ready for the long, cold Winter we are inevitably going to face. To help you with your knitting we have recently added a Knitting Accessories section to the website which includes everything you might need for knitting and crocheting.
For all of you that enjoy knitting we have a selection of stitch markers and row counters to assist you in keeping on track with your knitting pattern. Â Our Stitch Markers are particularly useful if you are doing circular knitting and can be used to mark the end of a row when it is not obvious where the circle ends or begins. They can also be used to show where stitch increases and decreases are needed.
If you are planning to do some crafts with children based around knitting we have a few knitting accessories that would be ideal. A craft that I used to be fond of when I was younger was French Knitting and this is an easy way to get kids interested in working with wool. We have a child friendly French Knitting Dolly decorated to look like a little lady which is perfect for a start to french knitting as it also comes with full instructions. Once they are used to this they can move onto our larger Knitting Dolly Maxi. As well as this we have Pom Pom Makers which can be used to make pom pom animals, decorate cushions or sew onto scarves with the kids.
A new product in our range is our Knitting Loom which would be great for making socks on those winter evenings. This is available in small and large sizes so you can make socks for children and adults.
If you are not a knitter we also have accessories for crocheting which is a popular hobby. We stock a number of lovely crochet cottons including Pixie Crochet Cotton which can be made into hats, blankets or scarves.
If you have any ideas of how to use our knitting accessories or have any pictures of what you have made with our wool/crochet cottons please feel free to post a picture on our Facebook page. Alternatively, visit our Twitter page.
Until next time,
Laura
