Even though we are still experiencing fairly warm weather, it will soon be Autumn and the time to be thinking of wearing warmer clothes. With the weather we usually experience in Britain in the later part of the year it is time to Buy Fabric to make yourself a warm winter coat and winter skirts. This week we have added a new section to the website, winter fabric, that would be ideal if you are planning on creating winter clothes, in particular coats and jackets.

If you are looking to Buy Fabric with a pattern, the winter fabric range is ideal as they are all patterned. The majority of the fabrics have either a plaid or tartan effect to them however we also have some houndstooth fabric which would be perfect for recreating a Coco Chanel style jacket and skirt for the office or special occasion. Many of the fabrics have a percentage of wool in their fibre content making them warm for the colder weather. Perfect for straight skirts, kilts, A line skirts, jackets and longer coats.
If I was looking to Buy Fabric for a winter outfit I think I would choose the Brown/White Edinburgh fabric to make a smart dress. The pattern is almost like a 'Prince of Wales check' and reminds me of the flat cap my Grandad used to wear. It would look great with a white shirt underneath as a pinafore dress or a more fitted dress with cap sleeves and a longer skirt for the office. If I wanted to make more of a casual dress, this fabric could also be used for a dress with a slight flare to the skirt however as it is a fairly heavy fabric it would probably be more suited to a pleated style skirt.
