Last week saw many fashionistas in the bridal world visiting Spain for the 25th Barcelona bridal week which centres around Bridal Fabric and designs. 23 companies took part in the catwalk show with another 200 plus companies showcasing their spring/summer collection for 2016.
One of the standout shows from the fashion week was the pronovias bridal show which was called the 'pronovias dream factory'. The company had a number of gowns featured on the runway in a variety of Bridal Fabric and styles ranging from romantic to sexy. The range included very fashion forward dress that included 'tattoo illusion gowns'. These dresses were made from see through fabric with a large amount of lace appliques applied to create pattern and cover up areas to keep the bride's modesty. These looked gorgeous but you would definitely need to be a brave bride to wear these for your wedding as they are somewhat revealing. Many of the pronovias dresses made use of lace Bridal Fabric including modern fish tail dresses and even a very short dress with long lace sleeves.
For the more traditional bride who still wants to have a slight modern twist to her gown, pronovias showed some ball gown style dresses. These were in two different types of Bridal Fabric, duchess satin and chiffon. The duchess satin style dress gives the ball gown a structured design to the skirt whereas the chiffon version creates more of a floaty, airy look.
Lace Bridal Fabric has been popular for the last few years since the wedding of Willam and Kate and from the designs seen in Barcelona fashion week it seems that this is set to continue. If you would like to use lace for your own wedding dress we stock a heavy corded lace which can be embellished with beads and sequins to create a unique look.
