In my entry today I'm going to talk through some of the most popular fabrics for bridal wear.

Duchess Satin is a beautiful fabric for bridal wear.[/caption]
Duchess Satins: A staple fabrics for all brides, duchess satin is by far our most popular fabric for brides. This heavy matt satin is 150cm wide and made in Japan. It comes in a number of colours and makes up extremely well.
Satin Back Dupion: I really like this fabric, it looks and feels like a high quality silk but is made from 100% polyester. Don't let this put you off though, it really is a stunning cloth and comes in a number beautiful colours. This is 115cm wide and also made in Japan.
Economy Satin: Depending upon your budget, this satin is one of our best selling fabrics for bridal wear. It is a lightweight satin and can be used for a number of things on your big day. Good examples of this include; lining your main dress, making bridesmaids dress and even as decoration in your venue.

Lace can add a beautiful finish to your wedding dress.[/caption]
Taffeta: If you are looking for something different then this is a great fabric to look at. It can be used on it's own or with other fabrics. Our range of taffeta is made in Germany and is 150cm wide.
Lace Fabrics: Always popular with brides, lace fabrics can really add a stunning finishing touch to your dress. At Calico Laine we offer a variety of corded lace fabrics and also plain lace fabrics. I have used all of these in the past in my dresses and have always been pleased with the quality and finish of the fabrics.
