Duchess satin is certainly our best selling Satin Fabric and is most often used for bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses however our brand new range of medium weight duchess satin by Jane Makower has proven to be popular for less formal dressmaking projects such as 22structured dresses, jackets and smart skirts. Composed of the highest quality polyester, our medium weight duchess satin features the same lustrous sheen as our regular duchess satins however it is slightly lighter in weight resulting in a material which is easier to manipulate than the traditional stiff duchess Satin Fabrics. Featuring a subtle, pearl-like sheen medium weight duchess satin is a finely woven fabric with a magnificent flow and drape.
Silky satins are one of the newest arrivals to our Satin Fabric collection and have proven to be incredibly popular. Silky satin is the perfect choice for high end clothing items and are a lighter weight than many of our other Satin Fabrics. Featuring a liquid like lustre and stunning drape, silky satin is ideal for evening gowns, bridesmaid dresses and fashionable kimonos. If your design calls for a Satin Fabric with an element of stretch, our silk touch satins are the ideal choice. Composed of a lightweight polyester fabric and the addition of 5% spandex, silk touch satin features a slight stretch resulting in a fabric which is particularly pleasing of appearance and is very flattering to wear.
