In todays blog I'm going to talk about a couple of fabrics that have been a real godsend this winter for me. As you may or may not remember December was a particularly cold month for most of us in the UK. As such I made a real effort with my winter dressmaking to choose a great selection of warm winter clothes. Below Im going to go in a little more detail about the fabrics that have helped keep me warm this winter.
- Winter Wollens - In this section there are some very good quality heavy winter wools. Most of these fabrics are 150cm wide with a wool and polyester mix. Also in this section is balck wool melton fabric. This is my real favouite of the fabrics I have used. It is an italian made fabric that has a wool composition of 60%, making it a real quality dressmaking fabric.
- Double Knit Jersey- These fabrics are heavy weight jersey and lend themselves to making realy good quality winters dresses, skirts and even tops. These fabrics are all 150cm wide and priced at only £8.99 per metre they are also a real bargain!!!
- Velboa Skins - One of the most popular fabrics this winter seems to have been our range Velboa Animal Print Fabrics. These have just gone from strenth to strenth and moving into the summer months they show no sign of slowing down. These fabrics really are ideal for making jackets, bags, skirts, dresses or even purses to match your outfit. As I have said in earlier blogs, animal print fabrics are very much ''in fashion'' at present and by making and creating your own peices you will end up with something truly unique. This collection of fabrics are all 150cm wide and priced at only £6.99 per metre.
- Crepe Fabrics - These lovely heavy crepe fabrics really do look the part. I have used nearly all the colours we have on the site to make into dresses this winter. They are ideal for smart funcions or even for everyday wear. These are also 150cm wide and priced at £12.49 per metre.
