In todays blog we are going to be talking about why not to use cheap fabrics in Dressmaking, and why it is important to use good quality fabrics that result in a better finish on your projects.
Cheap Fabrics have many disadvantages in Dressmaking:
- Colour running -Â Due to cheap fabrics being made with less care, colours may run in them when washing, resulting in fading and damage to other garments.
- Cheap Looking - Working with cheap fabrics never quite produces the desired results in Dressmaking. It is not as easy to work with and can give uneven and cheaper looking results.
- Garment Quality - Cheap fabrics don't have the same quality as Dressmaking with better quality fabrics would. The garments can tear easier and even go baggy after relatively little wear.
